Frederick, MD -- Mayor Randy McClement announced that his Executive Assistant, Mr. Josh Russin, has given notice of his resignation to accept a position as Deputy Chief of Staff in Howard County. Mr. Russin’s last day will be Wednesday, November 21, 2012.

Mayor McClement said, “While I am sorry to see Josh leave, I understand this is an excellent opportunity to further Josh’s career path. Josh did an outstanding job serving in the capacity of Executive Assistant to the Mayor. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Per the Charter, “…the Executive Assistant shall perform such duties as may be required by the Mayor.” This position is currently responsible for the following departments:

Economic Development Weinberg Center for the Arts
The Airport Facilities
NAC’s Parking Department

Mayor McClement also announced that Mr. Joe Baldi will be the Acting Executive Assistant to the Mayor effective close of business Wednesday, November 21, 2012 and will ask the Aldermen to finalize the approval of Mr. Baldi as soon as possible.

Mr. Baldi served as a City Alderman from 1994 to 2006. He is currently employed by the City as a Housing Counselor at the Community Action Agency.

Mayor McClement stated the following about Mr. Baldi, “Joe’s broad knowledge and experience with City Government will allow him to hit the job running. We have one year left in this Administration and this position is key to help move forward the goals set by me and the Board of Aldermen. Due to Mr. Baldi’s wealth of experience at the City of Frederick, there will be little or no learning curve so we can continue to move forward with our initiatives. Mr. Baldi and I share the same vision for moving the City of Frederick forward.”

In addition to his City Government experience, Mr. Baldi also brings with him excellent communication, financial and management skills. With only a year left on this administration, Mayor McClement looks forward to Mr. Baldi’s quick approval by the Board of Aldermen to start in this new capacity.
