On January 12, 2013 at approximately 1933 hours, Frederick Police Patrol units responded to the area of Schaffer Drive and Hampshire Drive in reference to an armed Robbery that had just occurred.
The victim advised he went to the dead end of Schaffer Drive to move his vehicle. When he walked up to the vehicle he observed a male was inside the vehicle. The victim confronted the suspect inside the vehicle. The male ran from the victim and a physical altercation occurred between the two. The victim was struggling with the offender when he was struck from behind by another male. A total of four black males assaulted the victim. The suspects told the victim to give them what he had (valuables) and attempted to get the victim's wallet. One offender showed the victim a gun and threatened to shoot the victim if he attempted to stop them from fleeing. Officers responded to the area within minutes and set up a perimeter. The Frederick Police Department’s K9 unit responded and attempted a K9 track from the offense location, but was unsuccessful. The Maryland State Trooper 3 helicopter responded to the area and assisted with an area canvas. The vehicle was processed for evidence.
The suspects are described as:
Suspect 1 : black male, between 20-30 years old, approximately 5`10", 190 lbs, wearing a black hooded sweat shirt with the hood up, a white shirt or Jersey which stuck out from underneath the black sweat shirt, dark pants and tennis shoes with white soles.
Suspect 2 : black male, between 20-30 years old, wearing dark clothing and had on black tennis shoes.
Suspect 3 : black male, between 20-30 years old, approximately 5`08", 150 lbs, wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, and dark jeans.
Suspect 4 : black male, between 20-30 years old, dark clothing and armed with an unknown make, model and color handgun.
All suspects fled the area toward Key Pkwy.
