City Seeks to Fill Vacancy on Historic Preservation Commission

Frederick, MD – The Historic Preservation Commission is currently seeking an applicant interested in filling a full member position. The chosen applicant must be able to attend the monthly meetings held both the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 6:00 PM. Each member will be paid $25.00 per meeting.
In accordance with the City’s Certified Local Government contract with the Maryland Historical Trust and Frederick City Code §2-35(b), this member must, at a minimum, have a demonstrated special interest, specific knowledge or professional or academic training in such fields as history, architecture, architectural history, planning, prehistoric and historic archeology, cultural anthropology, folklore, curation, conservation, landscape architecture, historic preservation, urban design, or related disciplines.
A majority of the members of the Commission must be residents of The City of Frederick. Nonresident appointees to the Commission must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards as described Frederick City Code §2-35(a).
