Grand Opening of Chief Kim C. Dine / Police Activities League Skate Park
Thursday, June 6th 5:00 – 7:00 PM
Frederick, MD -- The Frederick Police Activities League (PAL) is pleased to announce the grand opening of the Chief Kim C. Dine / Police Activities League Skate Park on June 6th at 5:00 pm. The skate park is located at 26 S. Wisner Street.
The Skate Park, named after former Frederick Police Chief Kim C. Dine, will be open daily sunrise to 10:00 PM and will be free to all users. PAL Board President Kevin Contardi said “The PAL Board is happy to be a part of this amazing public private partnership that included several amazing community partners. The youth of Frederick will truly enjoy the new free to use streetscape style skate park. The skate park was Chief Dine’s vision and is a small part of his amazing legacy.”
Please join us in celebrating this grand opening! There will be skateboard demonstrations from PitCrew, Entertainment, Police Displays, and food provided by in10seBBQ. Keyote & McGruff the Crime Dog will be making an appearance as well.
Chief Tom Ledwell said “The Frederick Police Department is very excited about the opening of the Skate Park. This park will be a great venue for our community to use. It is just one of many projects and efforts involving PAL and the community working together in partnership. The celebration of its opening is also a celebration of the people who collectively work together on a daily basis to make our community a better place for our youth.”
This endeavor would not be possible without the support of many organizations, businesses, and community members. PAL would especially like to thank:
• The City of Frederick
• Hildebrand Limparis & Associates
• J.F. Brown III & Associates
• Morgan Keller Specialty Contracts Group
• Parks & Recreation Commission
• PitCrew
• Zavos Architecture + Design, LLC.
This project was mainly funded by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The remaining portion was offered as in-kind services and donations. The park is currently open daily sunrise to 10:00 pm and is free of charge
