On 5-17-13 at about 7:40 PM, an undercover officer from the Frederick Police Department's Drug Enforcement Unit, in response to an anonymous complaint to the drug tip hotline, purchased a synthetic cannabinoid (AKA Spice, K2, etc.) at Tobacco for Less, located at 1100D West Patrick St. The owner, who also made the transaction, was charged via criminal citation and the remaining inventory was seized.
Business owners in the city of Frederick are reminded that possession or sale of synthetic cannabinoids, synthetic cannabinoid analogues, and synthetic cathinones (AKA bath salts) is illegal in Frederick under FCC 12-2 and punishable by up to a $1000 fine and 90 days incarceration.
