The Frederick Police Department partnered with Maryland State Police, Brunswick Police, and the Frederick County Sheriff's Office in a special initiative to serve open warrants and other court documents over Memorial Day Weekend.
The Frederick Police Department, cooperating with the other area law enforcement agencies, carried out a special initiative targeting wanted persons and serving open warrants over the holiday weekend. The other participating agencies included Brunswick Police Department, Frederick County Sheriff's Office, and Maryland State Police. The initiative was part of the Frederick Safe Streets program, which places special emphasis on overall crime reduction strategies.
Over a 2-day period, 15 court documents were served during the initiative and numerous other investigative leads were pursued. Officers from the various agencies had the opportunity to work closely together and share information regarding current investigations and were able to develop new leads in tracking down offenders.
The Frederick Police encourage persons who know the whereabouts of others with active warrants to contact the police at 301-600-2101. Funding for the operation and others like it is provided by the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention.
For further questions regarding this operation, contact Officer Joe Palkovic, Planning Officer for the Frederick Police Department, at 301-600-7506.
