Frederick Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious situation. Arrest made for stolen vehicle.

On June 21 2013, at approximately 1511 hours, Frederick Police received a call for a suspicious situation in the area of the 100 block of Long Acre Court. The caller advised he observed a juvenile drive a vehicle into the court and park. The juvenile met up with several other juveniles and they were hanging in the area. They walked from the car and when they observed the caller looking at them they walked the other direction. The caller felt they were possibly engaging in illegal activity and contacted the Police. The caller was able to provide the license plate number of the vehicle, and it was determined to have been reported stolen to the agency earlier in the day.
Officers from the Patrol Division and Street Crimes Unit responded to the area. Officers took up observation of the vehicle and after a short period of time observed a male at the vehicle. When Officers attempted to make contact with the male he fled on foot, but was apprehended without incident. The male was identified as a juvenile. He will be charged for theft of a motor vehicle and theft from a motor vehicle.
