[ARCHIVED] Once a Week Household Trash Collection Begins for NAC 6 & 7

Effective October 7, 2013, once a week household trash collection will begin for NAC 6 & 7.

The City of Frederick introduces once a week household trash collection for NAC 6 & 7 effective MONDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2013. For Monday trash collection, set household trash out on SUNDAY, after 5:00 PM for Monday collection.
Wednesday set out for Thursday collection has been DISCONTINUED.

Please call 301-600-1440 if you have any questions.

This new household trash collection schedule does not affect your twice monthly yard waste collection. Yard waste collection continues to be the 2nd and 4th Monday for NAC 6 and 2nd and 4th Wednesday for NAC 7.

This change does not affect your Frederick County recycling schedule. If you have recycling questions please contact Frederick County at 301-600-2960.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why is the City making this change to my collection schedule?
The City is utilizing a once a week collection schedule to maximize the efficiency of the Waste Collection & Disposal Department and to minimize fuel consumption, equipment wear and tear, and personnel costs.

- What do I do if my collection day falls on a holiday, special event or there is inclement weather? The collection day will be the next business day. Example: If Monday is a holiday then your trash should be set out on Monday after 5 pm for Tuesday morning collection.

- Does this change affect my Frederick County Recycling schedule? No – your recycling schedule will remain the same. If you have questions regarding your recycling please contact the Frederick County Recycling Office at 301-600-2960.
