FPD still has opening for the 20th Citizens Police Academy.
FPD still has openings for the 20th Citizens Police Academy (CPA) which will begin Wednesday, February 19th, 2014. The CPA is a program that gives participants an inside look at the inner workings of the FPD and police work with lectures, demonstrations, and scenarios.
The CPA will cover recruiting, patrol, undercover operations, and various other parts of the Agency, both visible and administrative, that allows FPD to fulfill it's mission. The CPA will also cover issues Officers face almost every day that affect how they can perform their jobs, like search and seizure, use of force, laws of arrest, DUI enforcement, and dealing with difficult people.
The CPA will meet on Wednesdays, from 6pm until approx. 830pm through April 23rd and includes a morning of practical exercises on April 26th. There is no cost to participate and the class is open to residents of the City, people with business interests in the City, and any resident of Frederick County who is at least 18 years old and has no serious criminal history.
