The City of Frederick Set to Celebrate Earth Hour
Frederick, MD -- In celebration of Earth Hour, The City of Frederick will turn off the courtyard lights in front of City Hall from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Saturday, March 29, 2014. This global event is designed to spotlight the amount of energy we use every day. This is The City of Frederick’s 6th year participating in Earth Hour. The City asks that residents participate by safely turning off lights at homes and businesses for this one hour on Saturday in celebration of Earth Hour.
In addition to turning off the lights, The City of Frederick Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee will meet at City Hall for an Earth Hour bike ride around City Hall. Anyone is welcome to join in the ride.
Mayor Randy McClement said, “Earth Hour is an event designed to bring awareness to communities by turning off the lights at local landmarks. I urge everyone to join with us and volunteer to safely turn out lights on March 29th from 8:30 - 9:30 PM in support of Earth Hour.”
