INCIDENT/ INFORMATION:
Officers of the Frederick Police Department made two arrests for drunk driving that involved collisions between the evening of 26 January and the morning of 27 January.
In the first incident, OFC L. Sinay was dispatched to a report of a disabled vehicle on Opossumtown Pike. Upon her arrival, she observed the driver, Donald L. Harver, attempting to push his 2005 Hyundai out of the roadway because it had heavy damage to the right front wheel after it had struck a curb. When she made contact with Harver, she determined that Harver had not been injured during the collision but she suspected that Harver was intoxicated. OFC Sinay administered a series of field sobriety tests to Harver which he subsequently failed. Harvey was arrested and transported to Frederick Police HQ where he was processed and released.
In the second incident, Marc D. Johnson was arrested after the Cadillac he was driving struck a utility pole at the traffic circle on S. East St. near Monocacy Blvd. Johnson had been traveling southbound on S. East St. at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the utility pole, severing it from its base. The collision caused considerable damage to Johnson’s vehicle. OFC S. Shepardson was on patrol when he observed Johnson traveling at a high rate of speed. By the time OFC Shepardson was able to safely turn his vehicle around, Johnson’s vehicle had already collided with the pole. Johnson was contacted and it was determined that he was not injured. OFC Shepardson suspected that Johnson was intoxicated and administered a series of field sobriety tests, which Johnson subsequently failed. He was arrested and transported to Frederick Police HQ where he was processed and released.
