The City of Frederick is currently seeking applicants interested in filling positions on the following Commissions and Boards.

The City of Frederick Seeks to Fill Vacancies
on Boards and Commissions

Frederick, MD – The City of Frederick is currently seeking applicants interested in filling positions on the following Commissions and Boards. Interested individuals should submit a recent resume and letter of interest to Marsha Bowers, Commission Coordinator, 101 North Court Street, Frederick, MD 21701 or email mbowers@cityoffrederick.com by Friday, February 17, 2012.

The Zoning Board of Appeals has one vacancy for a full member with the term ending on June 3, 2012. Members are appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Board of Aldermen, and may be reappointed for three-year terms. The ZBA generally meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m., with a "field trip" the preceding Friday at 3:00 p.m. The ZBA hears and decides applications for variances and conditional uses, as well as appeals of decisions of the zoning administrator or other administrative official in the enforcement of the City's Land Management Code. Each member of the ZBA receives $25.00 per meeting.

The Ethics Commission is responsible for hearing and deciding, on the advice of the City Attorney, any complaint filed regarding an alleged violation of Ethics Law by any person. The Commission is also responsible for rendering advisory opinions regarding the applicability of the Ethics Law. Members serve a three (3) year term and meet on an “as needed” basis.
