A Frederick man has been charged and arrested in connection to the April 2014 shots fired incident on Rhode Island Avenue in Frederick, MD.

The Frederick Police Department has made an arrest in the April 24, 2014 shots fired incident on Rhode Island Court, Frederick, Maryland. The initial investigation revealed a crime scene in the 400 block of Rhode Island Avenue Frederick MD.
Det. Putman was assigned as the lead investigator and was able to determine that the suspect fired a handgun several times into the air after a verbal altercation. Through witness accounts of the incident and evidence recovered from the scene, Det. Putman was able to identify a suspect in this case as Romario Tevin Anderson.
The investigation revealed that Anderson fired a handgun into the air after having a verbal altercation with another male. An application for statement of charges was completed by Det. Putman and an arrest warrant was issued charging Anderson with the below listed offenses.
On 07/05/2014 at approximately 1115 PM members of the Frederick Police Department located Anderson in the 400 block of Rhode Island Court, Frederick, Maryland. Anderson was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

Original Release:
On 4/24/14, at approximately 2058 hours, officers and detectives with the Frederick Police Department responded to the 100 block of Pennsylvania Ave. for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, several witnesses reported hearing the gunfire. Witnesses also told police that two groups were heard having a verbal altercation just prior to the shots being fired. Witnesses also reported seeing several black males running from the scene.
Evidence recovered at the scene confirms the witness statements that were obtained. At this time, there are no further descriptions of the males seen running from the area, and there are no victims that have been identified.
This case remains active and ongoing by the Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Detectives are comparing evidence in this case to the shots fired case reported on 4/23/14 in the area of the 1100 Block of Key Pkwy. At this time, the two cases are not believed to be related.
