The City Of Frederick Seeks To Fill Vacancy on Historic Preservation Commission

Frederick, MD -- The City of Frederick is currently seeking applicants interested in filling a position on the Historic Preservation Commission. Interested individuals should submit a recent resume and letter of interest to Marsha Bowers, Commission Coordinator, 101 North Court Street, Frederick, MD 21701 or email mbowers@cityoffrederick.com by Friday, February 24, 2012.
Currently open on the Historic Preservation Commission is one full member position The chosen applicant must, at a minimum, have a demonstrated special interest, specific knowledge or professional or academic training in fields such as history, architecture, architectural history, planning, prehistoric and historic archaeology, cultural anthropology, folklore, curation, conservation, landscape architecture, historic preservation, urban design, or related disciplines. A majority of the members of the Commission must be residents of The City of Frederick. Nonresident appointees to the Commission must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards (http://www.nps.gov/history/local-law/arch_stnds_9.htm).
All members of the Commission, including those qualified by professional or academic training or specific knowledge, must satisfy the criteria listed in §2-35(b). A majority of the members of the Commission must be residents of The City of Frederick. Nonresident appointees to the Commission must minimally possess professional or academic qualifications as described above in subsection (b).
