Neighborhood Advisory Council (NAC) Coordinator Meeting Planned
Frederick, MD – The City of Frederick Community Outreach Coordinator Michele Bowman, will hold a Neighborhood Advisory Council (NAC) Coordinator’s meeting Saturday, September 6th from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m at the Municipal Annex Building located at 140 West Patrick Street (front of parking garage). This meeting is for NAC Coordinators, those interested in becoming a NAC Coordinator, or anyone interested in becoming more involved with the NAC’s.
The Neighborhood Advisory Council (NAC) is a forum for residents to become involved in identifying and recommending positive changes to improve their neighborhoods by enhancing communications with elected officials. It is the goal of the elected officials to work with residents to understand and address the issues that impact the quality of life in neighborhoods.
Some topics of discussion at will be:
• How to increase attendance at NAC meetings
• Guest Speakers
• Planning Process
• Code Enforcement process
• Community Projects
• HOA’s how to get them involved
• How to have an active social media presence
The City of Frederick is divided into 12 NAC areas that closely overlap established police beats, voting districts, and census tracts. Each NAC has defined boundaries, including detailed maps. Each resident living within a NAC is a member of that NAC and is provided an opportunity to comment on neighborhood traffic, safety, zoning, capital improvements, and other issues within their designated or adjacent areas.
