City Seeking Interested Individuals to Serve on the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC)
Frederick, MD -- The City of Frederick is seeking individuals interested in filling an unexpired term through May 2016 on the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC). The HPC is charged with prescribing appropriate rules and regulations for the transaction of business; applying guidelines for construction, alteration, reconstruction, moving and demolition of designated landmarks, sites, structures, and districts that are consistent with those generally recognized by the Maryland Historical Trust; and evaluating sites, structures, and districts within the City of Frederick using existing criteria and making recommendations regarding their designation.
The Commission is in need of one (1) interested individual that possesses a demonstrated special interest in historic preservation. This may be satisfied by formal training in historic preservation, professional or volunteer experience with a preservation-related organization, or active membership in a preservation-related organization.
Historic preservation is a vital part of maintaining our vibrant City.
