2014 Annual Leaf Collection Campaign

Frederick, MD --- The City of Frederick Department of Public Works will begin the Annual Leaf Collection Campaign today, Monday, October 27, 2014 and continue through Friday, December 19, 2014 using vacuum leaf collectors, street sweepers and rubber tire loaders with dump trucks. Leaves will be collected in all areas at least 4 times throughout this period. The last date for residents to set leaves out for collection is December 14, 2014.

Residents are asked not to rake large leaf piles into the streets to avoid overloading the street sweepers. If you must place leaves in the gutter prior to the scheduled collection dates, please spread them in a lower pile along the gutter to make it easier for the street sweeper to clean the street. Also, spaying the piles down with water will help keep them from blowing away during periods of high wind. Please use off street parking during this time if available.

Please remember that leaves can be put out with your twice a month yard waste if put in acceptable bags. For more information regarding your yard waste collection please contact 301-600-1440.

For additional information, please contact the Department of Public Works at 301.600.1440.
