Frederick Named in 10 Most Caring Suburbs
Ranked 5th in Nation

Frederick, MD January 9, 2015: The City of Frederick, named one of the Top 10 most caring suburbs in America according to Movoto Real Estate, is well known for their rankings on various influential topics.
Randy McClement, Mayor of The City of Frederick said, “We are very excited to be ranked the 5th most caring suburb in the United States. Frederick is a very friendly and caring community in no small part because of our Police Department, Frederick Community Action Agency and the many non-profit organizations focused on helping others, right here in our community. We take care of each other and it shows. This is an aspect of Frederick that makes me very proud.”
Movoto gathered data based on the following: student-counselor ratio, crimes per 100,000 people, pet shelters and rescues per capita, community services per capita, mental health counselors and therapists per capita and percent of workers who carpool. They analyzed the information and produced a ranking of the most caring suburbs in the nation which are as follows:
1. CDP of Silver Spring, MD
2. City of Georgetown, TX
3. City of Cupertino, CA
4. City of Alexandria, VA
5. City of Frederick, MD
6. CDP of Columbia, MD
7. City of Shelbyville, KY
8. City of Round Rock, TX
9. City of Alameda, CA
