On 02/20/2012, Officers of the Frederick Police Department, Fire and Rescue personnel responded to 32 S. Jefferson Street for a report that a vehicle collided with a residence near this location.
On 02/20/2012 at approximately 0456 hours, officers of the Frederick Police Department and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to a report of a vehicle having collided with a house at 32 S. Jefferson St. Upon arrival, personnel discovered that a vehicle had collided with the residence, causing significant damage to both.
The driver of the vehicle apparently suffered a medical emergency as he traveled northbound on S. Jefferson Street near the intersection with W. South Street. The driver of the vehicle was treated on the scene by EMS and transported first to FMH ER and later to Baltimore Shock Trauma for treatment. The extent of the driver’s injuries are not known at this time.
A resident of the home was in the room struck by the vehicle at the moment of the collision. The resident was clearly shaken, however was not injured and did not require medical treatment.
A Frederick City Building Inspector has responded to the scene and declared the home to currently be unsafe to live in. The resident and several family members are being aided by the American Red Cross. This incident is still under investigation.
