A vehicle was stolen from the Rosemont Service Center and used to attempt to break into an ATM at the BB&T Bank, 1602 Rosemont Avenue, by crashing the vehicle into the ATM. No suspects have been identified at this time.
On 2/21/2012 at approximately 3:20 am, the Frederick Police received an alarm call at the BB&T bank, 1602 Rosemont Avenue. When the officers arrived, they found the ATM kiosk had been struck by a motor vehicle and damaged. It appeared the collision was an attempt to break into the ATM. Based on evidence located at the scene, a vehicle that appeared to be related to the incident was located at 310 Baughman’s Lane. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and they advised that the vehicle had been dropped off for service at the Rosemont Service Center, 1704 Rosement Avenue.
Officers then checked the Rosemont Service Center and found that it had been burglarized. Merchandise and vehicle keys had been removed and the involved vehicle had been stolen from this location. Detectives, a crime scene technician, and representative of the bank and gas station responded to continue the investigation. No suspects have been identified at this time.
