On June 6th, 2014, at approximately 12:52 pm, The Frederick Police Department was called to 908 E Patrick St for a fraud that had occurred. The business reported that a male had cashed a check for $914.13. When the check was delivered to the bank the business was notified that it was a bad check.
Detective Douglas Ames was assigned the case. During the investigation Det Ames learned that the check had been forged by the suspect and never legitimately issued. Det Ames was also able to identify the suspect as Karl Samuel Trabold (DOB 08/15/89). A warrant was issued for Trabold in July of 2014 charging him with Theft Less Than $1,000 & Issuing A False Document.
On May 6th, 2015, Trabold was extradited from Pennsylvania and served with his arrest warrant.
