On today's date the Frederick Police Department made a CDS arrest as the resault of a routine traffic stop.
On 02/24/12 at approximately 1301 hours, Officer Meyer and Officer Dodson were working a plain clothes assignment in an unmarked police vehicle. In the area of Madison Street and Burck Street a green sedan bearing MD tag 2FRR34 was observed failing to stop at a stop sign. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver and passenger. After initial contact, Officer Conover responded with his K9 for a scan. The scan was positive for the odor of CDS and the driver was searched incident to arrest, marijuana was located on his person. The passenger was removed from the vehicle and was asked if he had anything illegal on him? The passenger advised he had marijuana in his pocket. He was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana Search incident to arrest paraphernalia and a large knife was located on the passenger. The driver and passenger were transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center awaiting an appearance before a district court commissioner.
