MEDICAL CANNABIS DISCUSSION SLATED FOR OCTOBER 21 WORKSHOP
Frederick, MD- October 16, 2015 The Mayor and Board of Aldermen will discuss land use regulations for licensed medical cannabis growing and distribution facilities in The City of Frederick at the October 21st Workshop. This is the Board of Aldermen’s first discussion on the subject.
This discussion, presented by the City Planning Department, will review the ways other counties and municipalities are approaching the issue of medical cannabis, and discuss recommendations for addressing medical cannabis growing, processing and dispensing in The City of Frederick.
The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC) deadline to submit an application is November 6, 2015. Qualified applicants interested in receiving a license to operate as a medical cannabis grower, processor or dispenser within the state of Maryland can go to the MMCC website: http://mmcc.maryland.gov
The Medical Cannabis discussion will be second on the agenda; the first item is a Quarterly Budget update from Katie Barkdoll, Director of Budget and Purchasing.
The Workshop will begin at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 21st in the boardroom of City Hall located at 101 North Court Street in Frederick. Public comment will be taken and is limited to 5 minutes per person.
