The Frederick Police Department responded to a roll over accident at the intersection of W. South St. and Center St. One driver is charged with DUI after failing to stop at a red light. 15-086492
On today's date, 10-23-15, at approximately 1710 hours, officers with the
Frederick Police Department responded to a personal injury accident at the intersection of W. South St. and Center St. Through their investigation, officers were able to determine that the driver of a red Jaguar was traveling E/B on W. South St. and failed to stop for a red light, striking a grey Hyndai SUV in the middle of the intersection as the Hyndai was traveling S/B onto Center St. from S. Bentz St. The female driver of the Hyndai was extricated from the Hyndai with the assistance of Frederick County EMS and she was subsequently taken to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown for precautionary evaluation. Her injuries are not life threatening.
The driver of the Jaguar, identified as Nathan Edward Disney, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He also had a quantity of marijuana in his possession at the time of the accident. He was arrested and taken to FMH to be treated for his intoxication and to ensure he was not injured due to the accident. While at FMH, Mr. Disney attempted to escape but was quickly restrained and he remained in custody of Frederick Police officers. Mr. Disney is still being treated at the time of this release and his injuries are not life threatening. No photo is available of Mr. Disney at the time of this release.
