Frederick, MD – January 28, 2016 @ 3:30 PM: The City of Frederick appreciates your patience as we deal with the aftermath of this unique and challenging snow event.

The City Snow Emergency Plan will be lifted at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 29th.

City Government Offices will be open and on time on Friday, January 29th.

Safety and Awareness - During the continued snow removal, many areas have become active construction zones as snow is loaded and hauled out of town.
The DPW Snow Team has greatly increased the amount of truck traffic in an effort to haul snow out of town as quickly as possible.
Motorist and pedestrians are asked to be extremely careful navigating streets and sidewalks. Motorist should look carefully before proceeding. Please be aware of the lack of vision near large snow piles. The City plow trucks are very large and have a hard time seeing people in the street. Do not let children play in large snow piles on corners or in parking lanes or parking lots.
Be aware of temporary street closures signs and crews temporarily blocking streets to clear snow.
Although many sidewalks are not clear, walking on the roadways is extremely dangerous.

We have added a link to report plowing issues on the City's website. The link can be found at http://md-frederick.civicplus.com/FormCenter/General-Problem-11/Report-Snow-Plowing-Issues-76
