Raise Awareness about Child Abuse Prevention
FREDERICK, MD – The Department of Juvenile Services will hold the 2016 Interagency Basketball Games tournament to raise awareness and funds for child abuse prevention in Frederick County. The tournament will take place at Linganore High School, 12013 Annapolis Road, Frederick, Md., on May 7 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is $5 per person with no charge for children under the age of six.
Snacks and raffle tickets will be available to purchase. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Child Advocacy Center (CAC), an all-volunteer charitable organization dedicated to supporting the work of the Child Advocacy Center of Frederick County.
The 2016 Interagency Basketball Games will include participants from the Bar Association of Frederick County, Frederick City Police, Department of Juvenile Services, Sheriff’s Office, States Attorney’s Office and others to raise funds for the Friends of the CAC.
Last year, over 250 spectators came to watch the games and root for their favorite teams, as well as to support the CAC.
