[ARCHIVED] Frederick Police Arrest Four on Heroin Related Charges (SCT)

The Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team arrested four adults on heroin related charges

On 05-12-2016, officers of the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team observed a male at the Motel 6, in Frederick City, who was known to have an active arrest warrant through the Montgomery County Police Department in reference to drug related charges. The male was contacted inside of a vehicle and positively identified as, Malcolm Terrell Naylor. During the arrest of Naylor, a hypodermic needle was found in the area where he was seated within the vehicle. In addition, one (1) small plastic baggie containing heroin was located on his person.

The vehicle Naylor was located in was searched and a spoon containing heroin residue was located under the driver’s seat. Based on this evidence, the person occupying the driver’s seat of the vehicle was also arrested. This person was identified as, Alexus Lee Drake.

Naylor and Drake were transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. Both were charged with the possession of heroin and the possession of paraphernalia used in the administration of heroin.

Later on this same evening, officers of the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of W Patrick Street and Route 15, after the driver of the vehicle was observed to commit a traffic violation.

Based on the officers’ initial observations of the vehicle prior to the traffic stop, a canine sniff was conducted on the vehicle with a positive alert for a controlled dangerous substance (CDS). The driver was placed under arrest based on the positive alert and identified as, Stephanie Anne Mangold. During a search of the vehicle a syringe was located in Mangold’s pocketbook. Additionally, three bindles of suspected heroin were located within the passenger’s purse. The passenger was subsequently arrested and identified as, Casey Brooke Schairer.

Mangold and Schairer were transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. Schairer was charged with the possession of heroin, and both Schairer and Mangold were charged with the possession of paraphernalia used in the administration of heroin.
