Seven Suspects Charged in Armed Robbery Incident

FREDERICK, MD - On Wednesday 01/18/2017 at approximately 9:07 PM, Frederick Police Officers responded to Stonegate Park for an Armed Robbery where gunshots were fired during the commission of the crime.

Officers located an adult male victim of the armed robbery in Stonegate Park with superficial wounds to the area of his face.  The suspects had already left the scene as officers arrived.  At this time, Detective Schultz was assigned as the lead investigator in the incident.

Medina Castro was quickly taken into custody after she was seen driving in an erratic fashion near the scene of the incident and it was determined she was involved in the robbery.  Medina Castro was then transported to the Frederick Police Department for questioning.  During questioning Medina-Castro identified her friend, Britania Gorman and 5 other men as being involved in the planned Armed Robbery.  The details Medina-Castro provided were consistent with the statements given by the victim at the scene of the incident.

Britania Gorman was later located and taken into custody.  During questioning she also corroborated the series of events in the Armed Robbery and later charged.  Based on the statements made it appears the victim and suspects are known to each other.

Detective Schultz applied for a statement of charges against the 5 male suspects related to the Armed Robbery.  A District Court Commissioner issued arrest warrants charging the 5 males with the below listed offenses.  As of today’s date, all 5 male suspects have been taken into custody without incident by the Frederick Police Department, Criminal Investigation Section.  The suspects were then transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.  At this time all 7 suspects are now in custody and charged in the Armed Robbery.

This investigation is still on-going and the Frederick Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the crime to contact Detective Jonathan Schultz at 301-600-1292.  Callers may remain anonymous and contact the Frederick Police Department Crime Tip Line at 301-600-TIPS. (8477).
