During the month of January 2017, members of the Frederick Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) received information from Officers of the Thurmont Police Department regarding a suspected CDS dealer operating out of Frederick but supplying both communities. A joint investigation began that led to several controlled purchases of suspected heroin from a suspect identified as Hall, Mark Sterling.
On 02-02-2017 at approximately 1250 hours, members of the Frederick HIDTA including the Frederick Police Department, Frederick County Sheriff’s Department and Homeland Security Investigations executed a search and seizure warrant on Hall’s residence located in the 100 block of E. 4th St. Frederick, MD.
During the service of the search warrant, officers recovered quantities of suspected heroin, cocaine, marijuana, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia and U.S. Currency.
Hall was arrested and charged with 3 counts of distribution of heroin, 4 counts of possession with intent to distribute heroin and 4 counts of possession of heroin. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forth coming. At the time of this writing, Hall had been transported to Frederick County Central Booking where he is awaiting an appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
