On 03-29-2012, detectives from the Frederick City Police Department and FCBI arrested Mr. Michael Allen Bennett Jr. for armed robbery
On 03-29-2012, detectives from the Frederick City Police Department and FCBI arrested Mr. Michael Allen Bennett Jr. for armed robbery. Mr. Bennett was placed under arrest for his involvement in an armed robbery that occurred inside the Burlington Coat Factory. Mr. Bennett was positively identified from a number of sources including video surveillance, the help of the community, and members of the FCBI.
On 03-26-2012, at approximately 11:47 hours, patrol officers responded to the Burlington Coat Factory located at 1025 West Patrick Street, Frederick Maryland. The victim stated that while in the store, shopping with her two small children, she was robbed of her purse at knifepoint. The victim stated that a white male stuck a knife to her side and demanded her purse. The victim complied and gave the suspect the purse, and the suspect ran out the front door and left the scene.
The Frederick City Police Department received a number of tips and assistance from the community. With this information, detectives were able to positively identify Mr. Bennett as the suspect in this case. Mr. Bennett was located at a residence in the 11,000 block of Beaver Dam Road and placed under arrest without incident. Mr. Bennett was transported FCADC for processing.
Criminal Charges: Armed Robbery, Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Theft less than $1000.00
