The Criminal Investigations Division arrested a third suspect for his involvement during a robbery near the Carroll Creek.
On April 6th Det. Alston of the Criminal Investigations Division placed under arrest Mr. George Allen Snowden Jr. for his role during a robbery near the Carroll Creek. Mr. Snowden was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Snowden was transported to central booking for processing. He is the third suspect charged in a strong armed robbery that occurred on March 25th near the Carroll Creek in Frederick Maryland.
On March 25th at approximately 01:30am patrol units responded to the intersection of South Market Street and West South Street where they located the female victim. The victim stated that while walking home she was approached by a group of black males who started to follow her. One subject in the group cut her path off with a bicycle and grabbed at her purse, causing the victim to lose her balance. The purse strap broke and she fell to the ground. She recalls being pushed and kicked while on the ground. This incident was witnessed by a citizen in the area who came to the victim’s aid. The victim sustained minor contusions and cuts during the robbery and assault. Mr. Snowden was positively identified as being a part of the group that robbed the victim
Initial responding patrol units were able to identify and place under arrest a juvenile at the scene. Det. Alston during his follow-up investigation also charged a second juvenile for his involvement. Mr. Snowden was charged with robbery, assault 2nd degree, theft less than $100.00, and conspiracies to all three criminal charges. This case remains open as Det. Alston continues to follow-up on additional leads in reference to possible additional suspects.
