[ARCHIVED] Assault arrest, 12-28514

On 5-09-12, Ofc Putman was patrolling the Carroll Creek Linear Park on foot when he happened accross an latercation in the area of the Carroll Street Mural bridge. He observed what appeared to be a verbal altercation followed by a shove of the victim by the defendant, later identified as VanHART. OFC Putman had been observing from a distance and other officers located the victim a short distance away. Minor injuries consistent with the altercation were observed and his account of the incident confirmed the observations by OFC Putman. After being placed under arrest and while placing her in the rear of the patrol car, VanHART used her body to suddenly shove the door closed onto OFC Putman's hand. VanHART was subsequently transported to central booking without further incident and OFC Putman was treated for his injury.
