Former Mayor Paul Gordon dies at 92

Flags to fly at half-staff through out the City

The City of Frederick is saddened to hear of the death of Former Mayor, Paul Gordon, and expresses our most sincere condolences to Mayor Gordon’s wife Rita, his family, friends and the many lives he touched during his tenure as an elected official, before, and after.

Losing such a cherished member of our community is difficult and leaves a hole that will never adequately be filled.

 “Though his loss shakes us, we are fortified by his priceless contributions and commitment to our community. His legacy will live on eternally in The City of Frederick, as will our everlasting gratitude for it,” said Mayor Michael O’Connor

By virtue of Maryland Code Regulations 01.01.1999.30 paragraph 5.04 Mayor O’Connor  ordered the Maryland State Flag lowered to half-staff effective immediately on City properties until sunset of the day of interment.

Furthermore, Mayor O’Connor ordered City flags to fly at half-staff until sunset of the day of interment in honor, and mourning, of Mayor Gordon.
