Frederick Police Make Arrest In Burglary Series
FREDERICK, MD - In September of 2019, the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit (SCU) began an investigation into a residential and apartment burglary series. The suspect/s in the cases would either enter through unlocked sliding glass doors or break out locked slider doors. In some of the cases, the same apartment was targeted more than once. Approximately 30 burglaries were linked as part of the same series and over $31,000 worth of property had been stolen.
Through the investigation, detectives were able to identify a suspect as Tyrelle Jermaine Sullivan (DOB 04/29/1987). On December 17, 2019, SCU detectives located and arrested Sullivan in the area of RT40 & Willowdale Drive. After arresting Sullivan, detectives executed a search and seizure warrant at his residence in the 1100 block of Key Pkwy. During the search of his residence, detectives located stolen property linking him to the burglaries. Additionally, detectives found several loaded handguns hidden in the residence. One of the handguns had been reported stolen through the Frederick Police Department. Due to prior felony convictions, Sullivan is prohibited from possessing any firearms.
Sullivan was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and charged with numerous Burglary, Theft and Firearm crimes. He is currently being held without bail.
Detectives were able to recover a portion of the stolen property and return it to the victims. Detectives are continuing to investigate the burglary series to recover additional stolen property and link any additional suspects.
