[ARCHIVED] Frederick Police Arrest a Man and Juvenile on Numerous Drug Related Offenses.

The Frederick Police Department’s, Drug Enforcement Unit and Criminal Investigation Section arrest a man and juvenile on numerous drug related crimes.

On February 5 2020, members of the Frederick Police Department executed a search and seizure warrant in the 500 block of Ellison Court, Frederick Maryland. Shatique Smith along with a juvenile male who had an arrest warrant were located inside of the residence.

A search of the residence revealed 240 grams of cocaine, 47 grams of crack cocaine, over 50 grams of marijuana, 81 THC cannabis cartridges, and over $9,000 in U.S. Currency. The street value of the controlled dangerous substances recovered was worth over $30,000 in street value.

Smith was placed under arrest and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for an appearance before a District Court Commissioner where he was held without bail.

  1. (1 count) Possession cocaine (misdemeanor)
  2. (1 count) Possession crack cocaine (misdemeanor)
  3. (1 count) Possession with intent to distribute cocaine (felony)
  4. (1 count) Possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine (felony)
  5. (1 count) Possession marijuana 10 grams plus (misdemeanor)
  6. (1 count) Possession with intent to distribute marijuana (felony)
  7. (1 count) Possession paraphernalia (misdemeanor)

This investigation was a coordinated effort between the Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Division and the Frederick HIDTA under the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN). The Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention (GOCCP) provides grant funding and strategic support to MCIN member sites to identify, disrupt and dismantle criminal organizations through inter-agency collaboration and data sharing to make Maryland safer.
