Mayor O’Connor Announces New Partnerships to Serve Community during COVID-19 Pandemic

The City of Frederick is committed to supporting all in our community and are working diligently to find innovative partnerships and solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The City is thankful for the active conversations and willingness of community organizations to support the most vulnerable in the Frederick community.

As a result of these conversations, Mayor O’Connor is announcing the following partnerships:

  • In collaboration with the Salvation Army, the Frederick Community Action Agency is mobilizing its Food Bank to serve local seniors and families. Beginning today, food bags, which hold three to five days worth of food, will be delivered to Taney Village and Catoctin Manor to serve over 150 seniors. Deliveries will occur once per week at this time and future locations are being considered. Additionally, FCAA and the Salvation Army are in communication with Frederick County Public Schools to offer weekend food resources to support families at the FCPS food distribution locations.
  • Due to supply shortage and to ensure essential City departments have the necessary supplies, Tenth Ward Distilling Company and McClintock Distilling are donating handcrafted hand sanitizer to The City of Frederick. Upon receipt, the City will be immediately deploying these supplies to the Frederick Community Action Agency, the Frederick Police Department, and the Water Treatment Plant.

The City of Frederick thanks the Salvation Army, Tenth Ward Distilling Company, and McClintock Distilling for their collaboration and partnership in supporting the health and safety of residents and our City workforce. Mayor O’Connor and City staff are working on additional partnerships and community supports, and hope to announce more in the coming days.
