An Update on Street Sweeping

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, for the last several months, street sweeping in The City of Frederick has been occurring on a reduced schedule. This was mainly attributed to the City reducing its staff levels to reduce the spread and lessen exposure to ensure the City retained a health level of staff to serve Frederick residents. During this time, we were not actively ticketing. The City thanks residents for their voluntary compliance.

As staffing levels return to normal and traffic increases on our streets, street sweeping will return to its normal schedule and ticketing will return. The City will begin issuing courtesy tickets for one-month starting on Monday, June 8th.   Normal ticketing will resume on Monday, July 6th.  Avoid ticketing by parking only on designated sides of the road on street sweeping nights (view street sweeping schedule).

As a reminder, all due dates for bills, citation, and licensure payment have been adjusted to 30 days after the City’s State of Emergency ends.
