City Launches Adopt-A-Road Program

The City of Frederick is excited to announce the launch of an Adopt-a-Road program beginning this Fall. The program, which has been requested by community groups and citizens in recent times, provides a way for the community to show their City pride and help keep Frederick's roads litter-free. Keeping roadways clear of litter also improves the health of local waterways.

The Sustainability Department invites community groups to participate in the program. Interested groups would adopt a one-mile stretch of roadway to clean at least four times a year. Registered groups can request bags, gloves, and safety vests from the City and a sign noting the group's name will be posted on the adopted road section. Volunteers must be 12 years and older and under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
