Disturbance call leads to Search Warrant
FREDERICK, MD – On 02/24/2021 at approximately 1756 hours Officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to the 2000BLK of Rosecrans Court for a report of a disturbance. While en-route Officers were advised that there was a possible discharge of a firearm involved in the incident and the call was escalated to a weapons complaint.
During the initial investigation it was determined that one of the parties involved carried a firearm into a residence on Rosecrans Ct. Officers set up a perimeter and contacted the complainant and other witnesses. At that time based on the information provided, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division applied for and received a search and seizure warrant for the residence.
Based on the information obtained by investigators the Frederick Police Department’s Special Response Team and Crisis Negation Team were activated and responded to the scene. The Special Response Team approached the residence and utilized a public announcement system on the armored vehicle. At that time two of the occupants emerged from inside the residence and were taken into custody for questioning. After being questioned they were both released without charges.
The Frederick Police Department would like to thank the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with their armored vehicle which led to the peaceful resolution of this incident. We would also like to thank the residents of Rosecrans Ct. for their patience and understanding throughout this incident.
