FPD arrests suspect for Common Market burglary

THE CITY OF FREDERICK (7)

On May 7, 2021, at approximately 11:25 p.m. officers responded to 927 W. 7th St., The Common Market, for a report of a burglary in progress.

Overnight cleaners in the store found a male inside the building and chased him outside. Upon arrival, officers quickly determined the suspect forced entry via a brick through the rear office window. A short time later, officers located the suspect and detained him. Officers confiemd the identity of the suspect, identified as Gemedia Beshir Dubiso, by using a photo taken by one of the cleaning crew from the store.

At this time, FPD believes Dubiso broke into the store to steal computer equipment. He has been charged with the following:

  •  2nd degree burglary
  •  4th degree burglary
  • Malicious destruction of property
