On May 25, 2021, members of the Frederick Police Department's Street Crimes Unit conducted surveillance in the area of Alban Court in the City of Frederick. Officers observed suspicious activity they believed to be a drug deal taking place. Officers followed the suspected dealer and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Waverley Drive.
Officers made contact with the driver, Leonardo Agustin Carrera Sanchez, 36, and passenger Wilfredo Argueta Garcia, 21, both of Frederick. Upon receiving consent to search the vehicle and occupants, officers located a folded dollar bill containing cocaine on Mr. Carrera Sanchez and four bags of cocaine and 45 Alprazolam pills on Mr. Garcia. Mr. Garcia was not prescribed the Alprazolam pills and officers discovered them concealed in a Tylenol bottle.
Both subjects were charged via Criminal Summons.
Mr. Garcia’s charges include:
- Possession with The Intent to Distribute Alprazolam
- Possession with The Intent to Distribute Cocaine
Mr. Carrera Sanchez was charged with:
- Possession of Cocaine
