The City of Frederick will be installing two speed cameras in the area of Christophers Crossing Crestone Drive and Moran Drive between on August 23, 2021. The cameras will capture traffic heading both westbound and eastbound in that area of Christophers Crossing. Proper signage for the location will be erected prior to the cameras being installed and being activated. In accordance with Maryland law, the cameras will activate and capture violations at speeds of 42 miles per hour and above.
Additionally, the cameras will not issue any “live” citations until Sept. 27, 2021 which will ensure compliance with all laws/policies. Prior to September 27, 2021, individuals who are operating a vehicle in that area at 42 miles per hour will not receive a violation in the mail. Any violation which contains a date of September 27, 2021 or after, citizens are reminded that these violations are “live” and that they should follow the instructions on the violation regarding payment and/or contesting of the violation. As a reminder the cameras will be active from 6am to 8pm, Monday through Friday.
