In the early evening hours of Sept. 28, 2021, an officer with the Frederick Police Department observed 21-year-old male Brett Frase sitting with a female who is known by FPD to be a minor. The officer was already aware of a protective order protecting the minor from Frase. Frase quickly fled on foot from officers.
As officers chased, Frase entered a house in the 200 Block of W Patrick St. Officers entered and located him in an upstairs bedroom. When confronted by officers, Frase punched out a second-story window in a hallway and jumped out. He was later seen on Abrecht Place toward Carroll Pkwy. He entered the water separating the grassy area near Carroll Parkway and the clock tower. Officers took him into custody in the grass near the Baker Park Bell Tower without further incident.
The suspect suffered a cut to his right leg from a fence during the chase. One officer sustained a minor injury in the incident.
Charges, including multiple sex offenses, are pending.
