FPD arrests two subjects for downtown church burglary

On July 5, 2021, The Frederick Police Department responded to a downtown church on E Second Street for a burglary. During the night, subjects broke into the church and stole several items from the alter that were valued over $1,000. During the investigation, a detective obtained video footage of the suspects and received two tips as to the identity of one of the suspects. The detective also received information from a Montgomery County Police Officer that assisted with the case. As a result of the investigation, Jeremy William Cascioli (DOB 01-23-1997) and Brandon Lee Ali (DOB 09-05-1997), both from Montgomery County, Maryland, were charged with 2nd Degree Burglary and Theft earlier this month.

On Aug. 21, 2021, all of the stolen items were dropped off in a bag outside the church. The detective was able to identify the subject that returned the stolen items as Brandon Ali’s father.
