The Frederick Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate a fatal crash involving multiple vehicles and pedestrians.
On Oct. 6, 2022, at 4:32 p.m., officers of the Frederick Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of the Hillcrest Drive and Consett Place, in Frederick City, for a multiple vehicle crash with injury and involving two pedestrians. A 2022 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was traveling south on Hillcrest Drive when it struck a 2012 Ford F150 traveling south and attempting to park on Hillcrest Drive. The Kawasaki then went off the roadway and struck two pedestrians at a nearby bus stop. One of the pedestrians at the bus stop was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Kawasaki motorcycle and a second pedestrian were flown to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries. Both are in critical condition, but stable. The driver of the Ford F150 was not injured.
The deceased victim is being identified as Ana Julia Escobar, age 76, of Frederick, Maryland.
