The Frederick Police Department is requesting assistance from the community and its neighbors with the identification of a subject involved in an assault that occurred on June 21, 2012 at approximately 10:40 pm. The victim, who was jogging in the vicinity of Scottish Alley & W. 7th St., was grabbed from behind and knocked down. The sketch attached to this press release was prepared by the victim with assistance from the Criminal Investigations Division and the Frederick Police Department's Crime Scene Unit. This is considered an isolated incident and the victim was not injured.
The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens or early twenties, small build, 5' 5' to 5' 7' in height, and approximately 150lbs. The victim stated that the suspect was clean shaven, with a square jaw line, and deep brown thick wavy hair that almost came to his shoulders. The suspect had a toboggan-style hat, khaki shorts, dark t-shirt with dark multi colored sneakers.
After the assault, the victim was able to get back up and run to a relative’s house and call police.
The police department would like to remind citizens to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to the police department.
