The Frederick Police Department has apprehended and charged a man and a woman in connection to a reported stabbing that occurred on Waverley Drive in Frederick in November.
At approximately 4:40 p.m. on Nov. 21, 2022, officers with the Frederick Police Department responded to 90 Waverley Drive for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with two stab wounds to his back. The victim was OC sprayed by a female suspect, later identified as Lavitira Edmond, then stabbed twice by a male suspect, later identified as Dalonte Shea Dunston. Both suspects fled the scene in a white Honda Accord. The victim’s dog was also stabbed in the incident.
Through evidence and information obtained, detectives positively identified the suspects and Edmond was apprehended by officers on Nov. 23, 2022 and is charged with first-degree assault related to the stabbing.
On Dec. 28, 2022, members of the United States Marshal Service located and arrested Dunston in Chambersburg, PA. Charges include first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and aggravated animal cruelty. Dunston is currently being held in Franklin County, PA until he is extradited back to Frederick.
