Mayor Michael O’Connor is pleased to announce the establishment of the 11-member committee to provide suggestions for changes to the Neighborhood Advisory Council resolution.
“Over the next several months this committee will review the City’s ongoing efforts to engage our neighborhoods and community members,” said Mayor O’Connor. “I look forward to seeing the committee’s recommendations, so we can evolve the most informational and equitable NAC program possible to fit the unique needs of our city.”
The 11 committee members are:

- Jenifer Rodriguez
- Kevin Sellner
- Libby Taylor
- Liz Tinker
- Kevin Valiente
- Derek Shackelford – Aldermanic Liaison
The Ad Hoc Neighborhood Engagement & NAC Committee will host its first meeting on Feb. 28 from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Board Room. Subsequent meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month from 4:30-5:30 PM.
The Committee’s discussions will include but not be limited to:
- The purpose for neighborhood engagement
- How other cities approach engagement with residents
- Opportunities for improving engagement in Frederick
- Perspectives on neighborhood growth & NAC boundaries
Committee meetings will be open to the public and recorded.
