On Monday, March 6, 2023, at approximately 12:01 PM, officers of the Frederick Police Departments Patrol Squad A, responded to the 600 block of N. Market Street for a report of a commercial robbery.
Upon arrival, officers were notified that a male was attempting to steal items from a downtown business establishment. During the incident an employee and a civilian who were inside the store at the time were assaulted and a handgun was displayed by the suspect who then fled the scene.
Detectives canvassed the area and were provided audio and video surveillance footage from the establishment. FPD’s OFC. Bonneville quickly recognized the suspect from a previous case. By conducting a thorough investigation, OFC. Bonneville was able to identify the suspect by name and subsequently find his location.
The suspect was positively identified as a 13-year-old male. Due to the age of the juvenile, a name will not be released. A BB handgun was recovered from the suspect and seized as evidence in the case. The juvenile was arrested, processed, and released to the custody of his parents.
