Beginning Monday, May 1, 2023, The City of Frederick will begin offering expanded foodbank services for city and county residents.

The expansion will include moving some operations to the Trinity School of Frederick  on New Design Road. Residents will also be able to continue to access The City’s services at the original foodbank site at 14 East All Saints Street.

Operations at the Trinity School site will be conducted on a short-term basis while Tthe City searches for   a more permanent long-term location.

The City is in negotiations with Friends for Neighborhood Progress, which acquired the title to the East All Saints Street building in 2005 for The City to operate a foodbank, to maintain its decades-long partnership and remain in the East All Saints Street building long-term. The City will continue to accept and pick up donations for the foodbank at both locations.

"The City of Frederick has for several months continued to negotiate an agreement to operate the foodbank at the East All Saints Street site,” said Mayor Michael O’Connor. However, if there’s one thing we learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is the need to offer expanded services at multiple locations for our residentsWe remain committed to providing this much-needed service to anyone who needs it at both locations.”

Despite ongoing negotiations, The City of Frederick has remained committed to one thing: providing services to our residents,” said Ramenta Cottrell, Director of Housing and Human Services. “We’re excited about this expansion of the foodbank to the Trinity School site and The City will continue operating out of the East All Saints Street building that our residents have come to know as The City of Frederick Foodbank.”

Residents looking for more information regarding foodbank operations are encouraged to contact Business and Marketing Developer Michael Grogan at MGrogan@cityoffrederickmd.gov. Media inquiries should be directed to Manager of Communications Allen Etzler at AEtzler@cityoffrederickmd.gov
